James is the beloved husband of Mary Monahan. They were wed, 53 years ago, on October 28, 1956 in Sacred Heart Church, Hudson, Michigan.

He is the father of J Paul (Debbie) Rentrop of Fairfield, Monica (Tim) Rogers of Western Hills, Peter (Terri) Rentrop of Covington and Joe (Amy) Rentrop of Kenwood. He is the grandfather of Erin, Alex, James (Tracy), Mason, Luke, Claire, Joey, Elizabeth, Lilly, Kate, Jack and Caroline. Jime is the brother of Marian A. Rentrop.

Jim worked 19 years as a corporate accountant, 22 years as the City of Cincinnati tax examiner. He was an active member of St. Margaret Fraternity SFO for 65 years. A faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, he was a chior member for 42 years. He was a member of Xavier University and Roger Bacon alumni groups.

Jim died in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

In lieu of flowers, The Rentrop Family suggests memorial donations to The Rentrop Children’s’ Catholic Education Fund c/o any Key Bank branch.
