Carmel Elizabeth Wait

Carmel Elizabeth Wait passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday April 5, 2023, at the age of 97.  She was born July 16, 1925, to the late Martin and Barbara Murphy in Reading Ohio.  Carmel was a wife of 57 years to the late Fred Wait who passed away in 2015.  Affectionately known as grandma to everyone, her laughter and sense of humor will be missed.  She is survived by her loving daughters Janice (Kevin) Jones and Bev Davis (Doug Hausfeld); beloved grandchildren, Brian (Alix) Jones, Kyle (Shelby) Jones, Emily Davis (Zach Brauning), Drew Davis, Emily (Ryan) McGowan, Karley (Maury) Allen and Kayla Hausfeld (Ryan Bross); precious great-grandchildren Tucker Jones, Maddison, Jaxen, Reagan, Brayden, Rori, Finley and Jovie. Carmel will be missed dearly by many nieces', nephews, families and friends especially Joanne Lyons and Hans (Marianne) Helmchen.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Joe Murphy, Paul Murphy, Tony (Louise) Murphy, Marg (Bill) Pflanz, Agnes Murphy and Ed (Theresa) Murphy as well as close friends Jack (Ginny) Rauen,  Pete(Mary Jane) Schooler and Art (Norma) Ungerbuhler.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 9am to 10am at the Rebold Funeral Home in Cheviot prior to the Mass of Christian Burial that will be 10:30 Wednesday at St. Jude Church Bridgetown.  Burial to follow in St. Joseph New Cemetery.  The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Sophie’s Angel Run, Inc. via the link below.
