David enjoyed fishing, golfing, and all of his dogs over the years. After retiring from Queen City Metro in 2000, David worked for the Oak Hills Local School District as the "Pony" driver. He enjoyed socializing with all the office personnel while delivering the interdistrict mail to all of the schools in the district. David also enjoyed spending time with his family and neighbors. David will be remembered as a good friend with a generous nature, and a unique sense of humor. All of the people who were fortunate enough to meet David understood quickly the kind of man he was. A man with a huge heart and an honest opinion. As he began to get older and his health and body dwindled, but his heart become even larger. He was never too busy to help a friend.
David loved his wife Mary Lou deeply. He and Mary Lou were married over 30 years until her death in 2005. They dedicated their lives to each other and their families, especially their son Michael, then eventually to their grandsons Zachary and Tyler. David never missed an event for his son or grandsons. David had a work ethic few could match. Thus he was a role model and hero to his son, and grandsons.
