John H. Hayes, “DOZER627”, passed away Sunday March 5, 2023, the age of 58. He leaves behind many family members who loved him. John is a 1983 graduate of Oak Hills High School. Following, he studied at Central Academy of Commercial Art. It was there that his talent for illustration became a lifelong passion. John was a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18. He took great pride in doing a job he loved.
John was an avid CB radio enthusiast. Locally he belonged to KOI Radio but talked with people all over the United States and as far away as Europe. DOZER627 was integral piece of his life. John loved anything fast. Some of his most cherished days were spent racing cars and dirt bikes. He lived with the throttle hammered down making each moment a memory.
Those most treasured in his life were his amazing friends. Hanging at the farm with his close friends and 4 wheeling down to Big Creek is what felt like home to him.
Throughout his life, John produced an impressive collection of illustrations and paintings. This collection will be on display at his Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Rebold Funeral Home in Cheviot Ohio from 1pm to 3pm. While in attendance, please consider taking a piece of John’s collection as a lasting memory. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Cheviot Eagles #2197 who generously helped him during his battle with cancer.
