Martin A. Murphy, 68, beloved son of the late Anthony and Louise Murphy, soard to Heaven on April 6, 2023. Martin was employed by Sun Chemical for 40 years until his retirement in 2015.
As a big brother and little brother, Martin (or Micky as he was known in the family) was a gentle soul, quiet and humble, kind and always supportive, ready, willing, and able to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Micky was a great procurer of knowledge and philosophy and could converse on many, many topics. He had a broad range of interests and curiosity, and was always recommending to us new areas of interest, from Graham Norton to Puddles Pity Party to the writings of Wm. H. Burrughs and others covering every topic under the sun.
Micky shared the "family gene" of collecting and referred to himself as the keeper of the "Murphy Museum."
Martin is survived by his sisters Linda Hudson and Brenda Murphy, Brenda's fiance Jim Hensley, niede Katherine Hoog and nephews Max Hoog and Alex Agenbroad. He was preceded in death by niece Lisa Hudson Agenbroad. A private celebration of his life will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to Matthew 25 Ministries or the charity of your choice.
Even though Micky never married, he was deeply devoted to his family and we were devoted to him. He will be missed so much. He was truly a wonderful, amazing man.
