Obituary

Michael “Mike” Hauer passed away on December 23, 2021 at the age of 55 due to complications from COVID-19. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis nee Petrillo; four children: Emma, Will, Elena, and Grace; beloved mother, Rosemarie and his late father, William Hauer; brothers Bill (Cheri) Hauer, Paul (Sally) Hauer, Joe (Annette) Hauer, and Pete (Aimee) Hauer; sister Ann (Don) Heyl; sister-in-laws Rosa (Greg) Compton, Patty (John) Shinn, and Teresa (Kevin) Dugan; mother-in-law Maria and father-in-law, the late, Salvatore Petrillo; uncles Bob (Gail) Hauer and John (Diane) Hauer; aunts Mary (Charles) Sandherr, the late Sally (Alan) McCarthy, and the late Barbara (Tim) Haggerty; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

While his life was short, it was filled with love and laughter. In the last years of his life, he spent it doing the things he loved the most: being self-employed, visiting the beach with his family, woodworking, telling tall-tale stories, and spending time with his family. Mike will always be remembered for his patience, kindness, giant belly-laugh, willingness to always help others when they needed it, and devotion to his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on December 30, 2021 at St. Martin of Tours Church, Cheviot at 10:30 am, with mass following at 12 pm. If possible, the family would prefer all attendees to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hauer Family.
