Patricia Ann Schloss

Patricia Ann Schloss passed away on February 17, 2023 at Hospice of Cincinnati, Twin Towers at the age of 72. She was born November 1, 1950 in Cincinnati. Patty was a graduate of Mother of Mercy High School and continued her education to obtain BA and MA Education degrees at Mount St. Joseph University in Delhi, Ohio. She took great pride in the fact that she was able to pay for her education by working at the McAlpins Department Store in the Western Hills Plaza during her college years. Upon graduation, she began her 35-year career in teaching second grade students in the Miami Heights Elementary School in Cincinnati. Her passion was in educating her students with a particular emphasis on those students needing extra attention. Throughout her career she received multiple awards for excellence in teaching. Patty loved to relay stories of chance meetings with many of her students long after they had grown. She always enjoyed hearing stories from them about what they were now doing and getting information on their families. She was particularly impressed and excited that many of them recognized her later in her life. She retired from teaching in 2011.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Marie and Francis M Schloss Sr., and sister-in-law Willma G. Schloss. She is survived by her brother Francis M Schloss, sister Nancy (Ed) Bachus, and two nieces and two nephews.

Patty had many friends but special thanks go to Barb, Eileen, Elaine and Mary Sue who provided her with much needed assistance with grocery shopping and transportation to many of her medical appointments in the years prior to her passing.

There will be visitation at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 3450 Lumardo Ave, Cincinnati at 9:30am March 3, 2023, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patty’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
