Patsy Carlene (nee Roy) Hermes passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, May 1st, 2023. She was 79.
Patsy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent much of her life there. Her proudest achievement was being the devoted mother to son David Hermes and daughter Laura (Jason) Urbanski. She adored being Nana to granddaughter Stacy (Spenser) Dopp, as well as great-grand-dog Revan.
Patsy was the daughter of Homer Roy and Laura (nee Ellison) Whited, and sister of Dallas Roy, Lester Roy, Peggy Fowee, and Paula Fry, all of whom preceded her in death. She was the aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Patsy’s legacy is far-reaching. She was a long time resident of Westbrook Village Mobile Home Park, a proud waitress at Doris and Sonny’s Restaurant for several years, and a ray of sunshine to her care team at Mercy West Hospital. She loved animals, old Westerns, and crime shows. She spent the last few years of her life cherishing frequent visits from her special young friends on the hill. Patsy was a loving friend to many and will be dearly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held for Patsy by her family on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 12-2pm at Miamitown Historical Society in Miamitown, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Safe Passage, Inc. of Batesville, IN with the note “In honor of Patsy Hermes.“ Lastly, Patsy was a survivor and wanted anyone who may be affected by intimate partner violence to know help is available 24/7 through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
